Services for Bernice Donahue Long, 53, of 2000 E. Thirty-Eighth Ct., who died there Thursday of a heart attack, will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Hamilton’s Funeral Home with burial at Glendale Cemetery.
Born in Osage, Mrs. Long lived in Des Moines 35 years and was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. She worked for Utica Clothing here until it closed in 1959.
Survivors include a son, Orville Long of Des Moines; three daughters, Christine Donahue, Betty Young, and Alice Good, all of Des Moines; five brothers, Harold Sawyer of Osage, Clarence Sawyer of Cedar Rapids, Kenneth Sawyer of McMary, Ore., Junior Sawyer of Junction City, Kan. and Lynn Sawyer of Des Moines; two sisters, Ernestine Losh and Paula Sawyer, both of Des Moines; two step-sons, Jimmy Donahue of Lansing, Kan., and Jerry Donahue of Lucas; a step-daughter, Dorothy Glasscock of Des Moines and 17 grandchildren.
