Obituary

Ellen Lane, age 92 of Waukee, died Sunday, August 22,2022 in Waukee. Ellen was born in Missouri on February 8, 1930 to Horace and Ada (Wiliams) Dawson. The Dawson family moved to the Runnells, IA area when she was 13. On July 2, 1948, she married Russell Lane and they raised two daughters in Runnells. After Russell's passing Ellen moved to Adel and then moved to Waukee where she lived the past 20 years. Surviving Ellen are her daughter Kathy Forret of Waukee, two grandsons Tyler (Ashley) Forret of Clive, and Andrew (Beverly) Forret of Urbandale and three great grandsons, Finn, Logan and Oliver Forret of Clive. Ellen was preceded in death by her daughter Karla, her husband Russell, her parents and two brothers Gerald and Richard Dawson. Private graveside services were held Friday August 26, 2022 at Lowman Cemetery in Runnells.
