Obituary
Jimmy Dale Dixon, 81, passed away on April 21, 2022, at UnityPoint Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. There will be a memorial service celebrating Jimmy and his late wife Gladys’s lives at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 30, 2022, at The Village in Indianola. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Norwalk United Methodist Church.

Jimmy Dale Dixon was born on February 14, 1941, in Davis County, Iowa. He was the son of Arthur “Dale” and Madaleen (Harper) Dixon. Jimmy graduated from Bloomfield High School and then received a bachelor’s degree in agronomy from Iowa State.

Jimmy was united in marriage with Gladys Toyne on November 30, 1968, in Boxholm, Iowa. They lived on a farm in Davis County and welcomed their son Dan in 1971. They briefly lived in Illinois for three years before moving to Norwalk in 1979. Besides being a farmer and involved in the farming industry, Jimmy also prepared taxes for H&R Block for 16 years. He enjoyed being a member of the Norwalk Lions Club and the Norwalk United Methodist Church.

Jimmy is remembered by his son, Dan (Chris) Dixon of Norwalk, as well as his grandsons Braydyn and Hunter. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and brother Teddy.
