Caroline Elizabeth Moore, 14, of West Des Moines, Iowa passed away on Monday, June 20, 2022 at her home. Carrie Beth was born on February 7, 2008 at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines.

Carrie Beth was full of life, energy, love, and laughter. She attended Jordan Creek Elementary and, more recently, Stilwell Junior High. Carrie Beth was involved with choir, youth group at West Des Moines Christian Church, Circle of Friends at Jordan Creek Elementary, and loved visiting the zoo, going to Drake Women’s Basketball games, events at UNI, and other Iowa sporting events. During her down time, Carrie Beth enjoyed going to parks and swinging, taking trips to the library, reading books, going for walks, riding her scooter, playing dress up at home, and hanging out with her siblings. Carrie Beth touched everyone’s life from teachers, friends, church members, family and everyone in between with her contagious smile, laughter, joyfulness, curiosity, silliness and her sense of wonder. If you knew Carrie Beth, you know she had a love and fascination for sloth’s and collecting stuffed animals.

Carrie Beth left this earth sometime in the early morning of Monday, June 20, 2022. Her family and friends are overwhelmed with the loss. Many are left to mourn Carrie Beth: her mother and father Jan and Andy Moore of West Des Moines; her brothers Wesley Alan Moore (Jennifer Johnson) Grimes, Austin Andrew Moore (Danya Moore) Waukee, and Travis Russell Moore West Des Moines; grandparents Roy and Frances Marvin of Estes Park, Colorado and Carl and Judy Moore of Shepherdstown, West Virginia; as well as aunt and uncle Matthew and Amy Moore and cousin James Moore from Simi Valley, California. We know Carrie Beth has found peace at last and is resting in the arms of God.

Funeral services will be held at 3 pm Sunday, June 26, 2022 at West Des Moines Christian Church (4501 Mills Civic Pkwy, West Des Moines) with Pastor Randy Ehrhardt officiating. The Moore family encourages everyone to wear purple--Carrie Beth’s favorite color--to the service as we celebrate Carrie Beth’s life. Following the service there will be a reception in the church’s Fellowship Hall.

Visitation will be from 1-3 pm on Sunday, June 26, 2022 at West Des Moines Christian Church (4501 Mills Civic Pkwy, West Des Moines).

In lieu of customary remembrances, memorials may be directed to the Blank Park Zoo, West Des Moines Christian Church, and IOWA Service Dogs.
