Sue was born in Des Moines, Iowa, the eldest child of Dr. James Howard Murphy and Esther "Neil" Ross Murphy. Preceded in death by her loving parents; sister-in-law Kathy Murphy; brothers-in-law, Hayden "Buzz" Curry, and Larry Scalise. Survived by son, Grant Mathey (Ginny); daughter, Mianne Mathey Tripp; grandchildren, Grant III, Maria and Nicholas Mathey; Alek, Quentin and Sasha Tripp; Brothers, Dr. Mike (Olivia)Murphy, Tom Murphy, and Jim (Samantha) Murphy; sisters, Molly Scalise, KC Curry, and Penny Murphy (David Chatburn); many beloved nieces and nephews. Services were held Friday, October 26th, at Christ the King Catholic Church in Omaha. Interment was at Calvary Cemetery. Memorials in her name to Creighton University School of Medicine, her father's alma mater.
