NorwalkWith his parents by his side, Michael Christopher Gilchrist Moede, 13, went to be with his Good Shepherd on Thursday, January 26, 2012. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, February 4, 2012 at First Church of the Open Bible, 2200 Beaver Avenue, with burial following at North River Cemetery, rural Norwalk. A visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, February 3, 2012 at the church.
Michael loved the Lord Jesus Christ. He was homeschooled his whole life and greatly enjoyed God's creation. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, hiking, painting, drawing and playing the piano.
Michael is survived by his father and mother, Paul and Joni Moede; his maternal grandparents, Ken Gilchrist and Elnor Gilchrist; his caring aunts and uncles, Nancy and Donald Wright, David and Sue Moede, Dan and Michelle Moede, Ralph and Katie Lane, KJ and Joni Gilchrist, Vicky and Rodger McKim and many extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Paul F. Moede Jr. and Wanda Smith.
Michael's wish was that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be sent to an orphanage in Mexico for handicapped children, % The Mission Applegate Christian Fellowship, P.O. Box 1090, Jacksonville, OR 97530.
