Gene Casady, 88, passed away January 25, 2012 at Ramsey Village.

Gene was born October 8, 1923 in Nacogdoches, Texas to Walter and Willie Mae Wilson. She had served as PTA President for Park Avenue Elementary and Lincoln High School and had served on the board for the YWCA. Gene was a member of the Opti-Mrs. Club and was a supporter of the Door of Faith Mission.

Gene is survived by her children, Betsy (Robert) Jenkins, Simon (Patricia) Casady, Richard (Becca) Casady and Timothy (Sara) Casady; grandchildren, Dale, Lee, Bret, Anna, Thomas, John, Phineas, Elona, Nathan, Sierra, Bianca, Naomi, Timothy, Nikki and Sareena; 15 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Simon; six sisters; five brothers; and her grandson, Simon Randall Casady.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, January 28, 2012 at St. Paul Episcopal Church, 815 High St. Burial will be at Woodland Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Habitat for Humanity or Boy Scouts of America.
