CliveMary K. Chalik 87, of La porte, In passed away on February 9, 2012 in Clive, Iowa.
She was born on February 2, 1925 in New Haven, CT to Patrick and Mary (White) Curtin.
On April 29, 1950 in Fort Knox, KY she married Eugene G. Chalik who survives.
She was a member of St Peter Catholic Church in La Porte, IN.
Mary will be missed by her loving husband of 61 years. Mary will be forever remembered for her quiet strength, kindness, beautiful smile and twinkling blue eyes. She always had a kind word to say with her spontaneous smile. Her positive approach to life is reflected in all her Treasures. Mary was the center of a large family. In almost 62 years of their marriage, Mary and "sweet Gene" traveled, enjoyed their "supper club" friends and raised six children who all adore her.
She leaves behind four daughters; Nicki Chalik of Chicago, IL, Toni Chalik of Glendale AZ; and her daughter Tracee (Jeff) Johnson and their children, Caleb, Broday and McKenna; Randi (John) Stern of West Des Moines and their children, Leslie, Gregory, and Thomas; Martha (Charles) Tobar of Indianapolis, IN and their children, Taylor, Samantha, and Meredith; two sons, Dennis (Debra) Chalik of West Des Moines and their children, Timothy, Amy and Peter; and Brian Chalik of La Porte, IN.
The visitation was held at Essling Funeral Home in La Porte, IN on Sunday February 12, 2012 from 3 to 5:30 p.m.
A Funeral Mass was on Monday February 13, 2012 at 10 a.m. at St Peter Catholic Church in La Porte, IN with Rev Joseph Angotti officiating.
