This was Chuck Provow's motto who passed away on January 30, 2012.
Chuck was the youngest child of three born to Celia and Herlie Provow on March 27, 1927 in Climax, Iowa. July 31, 1949 he married (Donna) Joan Clark from Stanley, Iowa at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. He was an active member of Ivy Centennial Methodist Church. Chuck and Jo raised their four children in Des Moines, Iowa.
He loved to fish, camp, garden, and travel. They were a busy family and had many good times together.
Chuck was employed for 38 years by Frye Copy Systems. He also worked for Broadlawns Hospital and was a volunteer for Hospice of Central Iowa for five years.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Jo; four children, Steve (Sharon), Sally (Steven Nakamura), Shirley (Tim McEntee), Scott (Leslie); brother, Douglas (Ruth) Provow; sister, Alice (Leo) Van Fosson; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and other extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter-in-law, Sharon.
The family would like to thank everyone for their love and kindness at this difficult time.
A funeral service will be held 10 a.m., Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at the Hamilton's Altoona Funeral Home, 105 4th Street SW in Altoona. Burial will follow at Rising Sun Cemetery. Visitation will occur from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be directed toward the Ivy Centennial Methodist Church or Hospice of Central Iowa.
