Frank DeWayne Parker, 87, of Des Moines passed away January 30, 2012. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. at Memorial Services of Iowa Chapel in Ankeny (4208 N. Ankeny Blvd.) on Thursday, February 2. Visitation will be held 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, February 1, at Memorial Services of Iowa Chapel in Ankeny.

Frank was born in Redfield, Iowa and graduated from Linden High School. He served in the US Army in WWII and married Joetta Buresh in 1948. They made their home in Des Moines where they raised their daughter, Jannine. Frank worked for Woodford Manufacturing in Des Moines and then Artistic Churchware in Des Moines before retiring at the age of 82.

Frank is survived by his daughter, Jannine (Richard) Bamsey of Windsor Heights, Iowa, a brother, Gary (Zola) Parker of Ankeny, a sister, Leta Moore of Des Moines and numerous nieces and nephews.

Frank and his wife were long time members of Highland Park Presbyterian Church. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, and he sang in a group called the Chords, which is a part of the Za Ga Zig Shriners, and also, the Demoinaires, a barbershop club.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joetta, his parents, one brother and one sister. Memorials may be made to Highland Park Presbyterian Church or the Animal Rescue League.
