Marvin Winegar, 67, passed away at his home Wednesday, February 15, 2012.

Marvin was born June 4, 1944 in Des Moines to Kenneth and Mildred Winegar. He was a cattle buyer for numerous meat packing companies over the years.

Marvin is survived by his wife, Marla Winegar; son, Tom (Carolyn) Winegar; daughter, Shelley (Tony) Dorman; grandchildren, Tony, Nick, Megan and Jack; brother, David (Karla) Winegar; mother-in-law, Norma Schuttinga; sister-in-law, Pam (Howard) Pothoven; and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 18, 2012 at Bethany Reformed Church, 720 NE 52nd Ave. in Des Moines. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hamilton's Altoona Funeral Home in Altoona. A private family burial will take place at Waveland Cemetery in Prairie City.
