Thompson’s Rites Set
Services for Richard Thompson, 73, of 720 S.E. Twelfth st., who died of a heart ailment Sunday at Broadlawns Polk County Hospital, will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Hamilton’s Funeral Home. Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Thompson, who had been ill eight months, was born in Oklahoma. He had lived here 30 years. He worked for the Armstrong Manufacturing Co. before retiring eight years ago.

Surviving are two sons, Daniel C. of Des Moines, and Richard W. of Sioux City; six step-sons, Thomas Martin and James Martin of Des Moines, LeRoy Martin of San Antonio, Tex., Kenneth Martin of Sequin, Tex., Jess Martin of Santa Rosa, Calif. and George Martin of Hartford, Neb.; two daughters, Mrs. Patricia Strauman of Lake Lillian, Minn., and a married daughter, Helen, of Des Moines; three step-sisters, Mrs. Marjorie Averet, Mrs. Patricia Thompson and Rose Thompson, all of Des Moines; a brother, Larry Thompson of Des Moines; and 24 grandchildren.
