Born in Des Moines, Iowa
Resided in Clive, IAJune Roselene Kennedy, 89, of Clive passed away peacefully on February 5, 2012 at Mercy Medical Center surrounded by family.
June was born to Claud and Beulah Park in Des Moines on June 25, 1922. She married Clayton Kennedy in 1942 and had one child Clay in 1949. She worked for A & P, Standard Oil and for Kennedy Construction.
Anyone who knew June realized she was a very special and caring person. She was always there to take care of anyone that needed her and was the caretaker for several family members and friends during their final days. She spent the past several years with the help of Hospice, family and friends taking care of her son until his death in Oct, 2011.
June adored her family and being around children, cooking and entertaining. She took pride in her home, lawn and appearance. June's love and generosity was seen in all she did and said. You couldn't sit next to June without her putting a smile on your face or making you laugh. June saw the positive in everyone and gave with everything she had. She believed in making a difference in the lives of others, whether she was sitting next to you holding your hand or silently praying. The difference she made in the lives of her family and friends is immeasurable.
Left to cherish her memory is her niece Debbie Eittreim (Steve) and her family Shannon Mart (Chris), Melissa Krug (Rick) and their children along with out of town nieces and nephews and friends Jerrilynn and Dale Beck.
June was preceded in death by her husband Clayton, her son Clay, along with her parents and five brothers and sisters.
There will be a graveside service held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at Jordan Creek Cemetery in West Des Moines.
