Jeanne, age 87, passed away Monday, February 6 at her home at the Calvin Community. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 9 at Highland Park Presbyterian Church, 321 Euclid Ave Des Moines. The family will greet friends starting at 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at 2 p.m. at the Masonic Cemetery, Des Moines.

Jeanne was born March 3, 1924 in Des Moines, IA to Frank Lorey and Lucille VanHorn Lorey. She graduated from North High School and attended Parsons College. Jeanne worked as a Red Cross aide during WWII. She married Robert Byas in October of 1947. Jeanne retired from Job Service of Iowa. After retirement she enjoyed traveling the United States. Jeanne was a member of Highland Park Presbyterian Church for over 50 years.

Jeanne is survived by her husband, Robert; son, Bill Byas (Tracy Brewer); daughters, Barbara Byas and Lori Denes (Joe); brother, Frank Lorey Jr.; nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.

The family would like to thank Calvin Community and Hospice of Central Iowa.
