Michael Quijano
1961-2011

Mike Quijano, 49, went to be with the Lord, March 28, 2011, at Iowa Health Hospice Taylor House after a courageous battle against cancer. He will not suffer ever again or be unhealthy. I will see you again my love!

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Anthony Catholic Church at 10:30 am on Friday. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 pm Thursday at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, with a rosary service at 6 pm.

Mike was born August 18, 1961, in Des Moines to Virginia and Henry Quijano. He proudly served his country in the US Navy. Mike worked at Firestone Tire and Rubber. Mike was a divisional chairman for USW Local 310 who represented and helped union members. He loved his pets. One of his greatest loves was his family and friends. Mike helped every person who needed help during their lifetime. He enjoyed golf, traveling and music.

Mike is survived by his wife, Margaret; his parents; Henry and Virginia; his sisters, Paula (Pat) Allen, Tina (Dean) Rodriquez, Theresa (Bob) McVey; his father and mother in law, Albert and Eleanor Gomez; his siblings in law, Julie (Doug) Matheny, Ron (Darlene) Quick and John Gomez; a host of nieces and nephews and God children.
