Jeanne, 84, passed away April 4, 2011 at Tampa General Hospital in Florida as the result of a fall. Internment will be at a later date in Des Moines, IA.

Jeanne was born in Camden, New Jersey, June 26, 1926 to Chester R. and Martha (Smith) Dawson. She served in WWII as a Wave in the US Navy. After the war, Jeanne met and married George Twining, Jr.

They made their home in Des Moines, and had one son Danny G. Twining. Jeanne worked as a secretary in the Insurance industry. Following retirement they boated on the Mississippi, and the Gulf of Mexico. They also traveled the country in their RV and finally settled in Wauchula, FL. They met, what turned out to be long term dear friends along the way.

Jeanne is survived by her husband of 63 years George; daughter in law Victoria Twining (CA.); brothers and sisters in law, Cal and Eleanor Twining (MN.); Duane and Nancy Twining (Johnston); Karolyn and Dick Powell (West Des Moines) and many nieces and nephews. Jeanne was preceded in death by her son Danny Twining in 2002, her parents and her brother. ~ The Des Moines (IA) Register, Sun, 08 May 2011.
