Last rites for Glen Ault, 90, were held Thursday, Jan. 14, at 11:00 a.m. at the First Congregational Church, Mitchellville, with Rev. Richard Schrader officiating. Mr. Ault died at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines, Jan. 10, 1982 following surgery.Mrs. Lorna Stevenson was soloist singing "What a Friend We Have In Jesus" and "Beyond the Sunset." She was accompanied by Harold Whitaker, organist.
Serving as casket bearers were Norman Pearson, Jim Osborne, Carroll Jennings, Kenneth Winegar, Ed Craig and Ralph Clark. Honorary pallbearers were Merlin Craig, Dick Hiatt, Jack Volk, Gerald Pearson, and Carl Bowers.
Interment was in the Mitchellville Cemetery with Mitchellville Funeral Home in charge.
Born in Calhoun County, Iowa, Feb. 20, 1891, Mr. Ault was united in marriage to Anna Denberger at Mitchellville March 14, 1912. They were married for 61 years.
He joined the First Congregational Church of Mitchellville, Jan. 31, 1915, IOOF Lodge Feb. 1, 1917, and Rebekah Lodge Jan. 21, 1919. He also was a member of Ebenezer Encampment #10 and Patrarch Militant Pioneer #3.
Mr. Ault is survived by his son, Robert and wife, Letha; six grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna, Sept. 11, 1973; a daughter, Mildred Scartozzi of Seattle, Wash., Dec. 14, 1966; his parents, a sister, brother, granddaughter and two great-grandchildren. ~ The Des Moines (IA) Register, Thursday 21 Jan 1982
