Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church for James L. Harty of 8713 Ginger Lane, Urbandale. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Gardens Cemetery.

Mr. Harty, 62, died Sunday at Iowa Methodist Medical Center of complications of diabetes.

A lifelong resident of Des Moines, he retired as general manager of Sumner-Ramsey Pontiac. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and had been a member of Acanthus Masonic Lodge, Za-Ga-Zig Shrine and the Methodist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Shirley; and a brother, Frank of Des Moines.

Friends may call from 6 to 8:30 p.m. today at Merle Hay Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to his church or the Shriner's Hospitals for Crippled Children. ~ The Des Moines Register, Tues 06 Aug 1991.
