Lillian L. Kemen, 80, of 1800 Watrous Ave. died of an aneurysm Friday at Parkridge Manor Care Center, 4755 Parkridge Ave., Pleasant Hill.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Christ the King Catholic Church, of which she was a member. Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery.

Mrs. Kemen was born in Le Mars, and had lived in Des Moines about 50 years. She was a homemaker and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.

Survivors include a daughter, Charlene Philipsen of Des Moines; two brothers, Joseph Welter of Des Moines and Leo Welter of Sutherland, Ore.; a sister, Vivian Hood of Des Moines; five grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at Southtown Funeral Home, where a vigil service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Monday. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. ~ The Des Moines (IA) Register Sun 11 Aug 1991.
