Alexander Sandey Responsible for Des Moines’ Latest Murder.
Alexander Sandey stabbed Benjamin Baber, a fruit peddler on one of the princ{i}pal streets of Des Moines In mid-afternoon, when the streets were crowded, and Baber, with a knife blade in his heart, fell dead.
They were friends and quarreled and Sandey says he struck the blow in self defense, but others say that there was little provocation, save by words of mouth, and that one was as bad as the other.
