LAST RITES FOR MRS. NED L. SUTTON
Funeral services for Mrs. Ned L. Sutton, who passed away after a brief illness at Boone County Hospital, Friday morning, March 29, were held at Welin Funeral Chapel in Boone on Monday, April 1 at 10:30 a.m.
The former Emma Kurtzweil was born July 25, 1894, in Des Moines, Iowa and moved with her family to Altoona in 1906. She attended East High School in Des Moines and Drake University.
She was married to Ned L. Sutton of Boone on June 12, 1935. Prior to her marriage, she was principal of Lowell school in Boone for a number of years. She later served as a member of the Board of Education of the Boone Public Schools. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Boone, of Chapter DD-PEO, and the Gradatim Club.
Mrs. Sutton is survived by an adopted daughter, Mrs. Lawrence Graban of Boone; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Survivors also include a twin brother, Ernest Kurtzweil of Los Altos, Calif.; four sisters, Mrs. J. E. Freeburn, Eva, Ruth and Faith Kurtzweil, all of Altoona and a foster sister, Mrs. Merrill Robshaw of Kansas City, Mo.
Her husband, one sister and four brothers preceded her in death.
