DENNIS JOE LAVIA

Dennis Joe Lavia, 47, of Prole died of a heart attack Wednesday at Mercy Hospital Medical Center.

Services will be at noon Saturday at Southtown Funeral Home, with cremation following.

Mr. Lavia was born in Des Moines and moved to Prole 16 years ago. He was a siding applicator and had been a truck driver.

Among survivors are his wife, Sandra Lint Lavia; a stepson, Michael Lint of Indianola; his mother and step-father, Norma (Veverka) and Leonard Jacobsen of Okoboji; two step-sisters, Katrina Lavia of Florida and Lacie Jacobsen of Des Moines; a step-brother, Marc Jacobsen of Okoboji; his grandmother, Wanda (Saunders) Schlybeurt of California; and a grandchild.

Friends may call from 1 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home, where family will meet friends from 2 to 6 p.m.
