Mrs. Wissler, 73, Dies Here

Was in Keokuk County Before Coming Here.

Mrs. Ida A. Wissler, 73, of 3414 University ave., died Sunday at her home following an illness of five weeks.

Mrs. Wissler was the wife of the Rev. H. L. Wissler of Des Moines.

She was one of the first teachers at Elmwood school here, previously having been educated in high schools in Keokuk county and at Drake university.

Keokuk County.

Mrs. Wissler, born May 16, 1861, in Keokuk county, lived there 35 years. Before coming to Des Moines she had lived in Exira, Ia., Cincinnati, Ia., Gilbert, Ia., and Chester Center, Ia.

Mrs. Wissler was a member of the Plymouth Congregational church and the Eastern Star.

Four Sons.

Besides her husband, Mrs. Wissler is survived by four sons, W. E., E. E., and J. F. Wissler, Des Moines; C. W., of Cambridge, Ill.; a daughter, Mrs. C. B. Van Ausdall, Sioux Falls, S. D.; three sisters, Dr. Susan Bottenfield, Lake Alfred, Fla.; Mrs. George Harlan, Atlanta, Ga.; Mrs. Gertrude Hollingsworth, Salem, Ore., and six brothers, Isaac Reed, Hale, Colo.; William Reed, Wray, Colo.; W. L. Reed, Creston, Ia.; Alonzo and Winfield Reed, Glenham, S. D., and Frank Reed, Omaha, Neb.

The body is at Dunn’s funeral home pending funeral arrangements.

Mrs. Ida Wissler’s Rites Set for Today

Funeral services for Mrs. Ida A. Wissler, 73, of 3414 University ave. will be held at 1:30 p. m. today at Dunn’s Funeral home. Burial will be in Glendale cemetery.

Mrs. Wissler died Sunday at her home after an illness of five weeks. She was the wife of the Rev. H. L. Wissler.
