Gene Grosz, 80, died on May 2, 2011 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.

Gene was born on July 24, 1930 in Velva, ND to Joseph and Elsie Grosz. He was a retired over the road truck driver. He is survived by his wife Alice; children, Lynda (Gary) Millard, William (Martha), and Cheryl all of Des Moines; his siblings, Donny (Peggy), Marvin (Judy), Sandy (Don) Schrom, Linda (Rick) Vice and sister-in-law Audrey Grosz; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.

Gene was preceded in death by his brother Arnie and sister Maxine Harris.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Friday, May 6 at Merle Hay Funeral Home (4400 Merle Hay Rd., Des Moines). Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Friday afternoon. Entombment will be at Merle Hay Mausoleum. ~ The Des Moines (IA) Register Thur 05 May 2011.
