Jerry Eugene Kiene, 66, passed away Friday January 16, 2009, at his sister's home in Des Moines.

Jerry was born in Des Moines on December 27, 1942, to Eugene and Wilma Kiene. Jerry attended Carlisle High School and was a retired diesel mechanic, truck driver and sprint car driver. He enjoyed golfing, sprint car races, his church and family.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 20, 2009, at Peterson Funeral Home in Carlisle, Iowa, at 10:30 a.m. with burial at the Avon Cemetery. Visitation with his family will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Jerry is survived by his sons, Jeffrey (Dani) Kiene of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and Dana (Lori) Kiene of Ankeny; daughter, Jennifer (Treye) Jackson of Newton; three grandchildren; three brothers, Joe, Alan, and Mike; three sisters, Marsha, Cheryl and Joyce.

Preceeing Jerry in death were his parents and his brother Danny.

Jerry was a very giving person filled with love for God and will be deeply missed.
