Phyllis Jean Blend of Benton , AR, died peacefully Monday May 2, 2011 at Saline County Hospice in Benton, AR.

Phyllis was born July 31, 1931, in Maryville, MO, to Ross Dragoo and Francis Lemon. She was adopted by Alfred Northover at the age of three in Bedford, IA. Phyllis graduated from Bedford High School and then she attended American Institute of Business in Des Moines.

She met and married James F. Blend in Des Moines in 1950.

Phyllis was a Homemaker and also involved in Real Estate in various capacities for a number of years.

She was a prior member of St. Stephens Lutheran Church in Urbandale and also served as their Secretary.

Phyllis loved to do some traveling and spend time with Family and friends. During her later years she enjoyed sitting in her dining room and watching the birds.

She was preceded in death by her parents and late husband.

She is survived by sons, James F. Jr (Karen) of Eldridge, IA, Steve (Debbie) Bryant, AR; and a daughter, Diane (Greg), Tucson, AZ; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She will be dearly missed by all of her family and friends.
