Alyssa Nicole Frederick, 17, passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2011, at Child Serve in Johnston, Iowa. She was born July 29, 1993, in Des Moines to James and Kimberly (Spaw) Frederick.

Alyssa loved her days in the sun, with the wind in her face, and her favorite blanket by her side. She wasn't shy about being the center of attention, and enjoyed all the love she received from her family at Child Serve.

Alyssa is survived by her mom and dad, Kim and Jamie Frederick; brothers, Zac and Roman; as well as numerous grandparents, great-grandparents, aunts, uncles, and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Michael J. Spaw.

The family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, May 5, 2011, at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. Memorial services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Friday, May 6, 2011, at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
