Virginia (Ginny) Feldman of Ankeny went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 18, 2009.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Monday, January 19, at Saylorville Baptist Church in Des Moines.

Virginia was born December 11, 1928 in Polk City, Iowa to Harold and Elizabeth Waldo. She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior when she was in high school. While attending high school in Polk City she met her future husband, Delbert Feldman. After graduating she went to work for Banker's Life in Des Moines. Ginny and Delbert were joined in marriage on June 19, 1948. She became a full time homemaker after the birth of their first child, Steve.

Ginny loved serving others before herself and especially loved little children. She taught Sunday school for many years and remained faithful to her church. She also enjoyed travel and had fond memories of trips to Europe and vacationing in Colorado. Ginny and Delbert enjoyed each other's company and were inseparable.

She is survived by her husband, Delbert and children Steven (Barb) of Palatka, FL; Nancy of Spearfish, SD; and John (Teri) of Alleman, IA. She will also be missed by her grandchildren Rebecca Feldman of Colima, Mexico; David Feldman (Crystal) of Winterset, IA; Sarah Malone (Jonathan) of Palatka, FL; Molly Feldman and Seth Feldman both of Spearfish, SD; and Ashley Feldman and Tom Feldman, both of Alleman, IA. She was overjoyed at the birth of her first great-grandchild Zachary Malone two years ago. She is also survived by her sister Frances Nagle of Des Moines, brother William Waldo of Wellington, CO, and sister Wilma Vicena of Panama, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Elizabeth Waldo; her sister, Ellen Mason; and brother, John Waldo.

Visitation will be held at the church on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. Memorials are requested to Saylorville Baptist Church. ~ The Des Moines Register, Des Moines, IA 17 Jan 2009.
