Gail Laurent passed away on Thursday, April 28, 2011. A memorial gathering will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, May 2, at Iles Funeral Homes - Grandview Park Chapel in Des Moines.

Gail was born on May 13, 1940 in Iowa City, Iowa, to James and Thelma Fluke. She was a homemaker, loved her flowers and enjoyed cooking. Gail retired from Hawkeye Woodshavings.

She is survived by her sons, Steve Phares of Bondurant and Shawn (Teresa) Laurent of Des Moines; sister, Janet Parsons of Des Moines; four grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and many friends.

Gail was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Joyce Horton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Laurent family, c/o Community State Bank.
