Margaret (Peggy) Floch, 69, of Clarkston, passed away Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013, in Des Moines, Iowa. Peggy was born April 7, 1943, in Elizabeth, N.J., and later moved to Santa Barbara, Calif. While living in California, Peggy married Richard Cordero and experienced the joy of becoming a mother to her son, Jim, in February 1967. Richard passed away shortly thereafter. Peggy and Jim later moved to Vancouver, where she met her husband of almost 32 years, Elton (Corky) Floch. They made their home in Clarkston. Peggy was an amazing mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and the loving wife and caregiver for her husband Corky, who passed away in September 2012. After being diagnosed with brain cancer in November, she spent the last two months of her life being cared for in the home of her son, Jim, receiving the best love and care she could have hoped for. Peggy looked forward to, rejoiced and welcomed stepping into heaven to be with her Father God.
Peggy is survived by her sister, Veronica (Bruce) Birkland of Santa Barbara, Calif.; her son, Jim (Paula) of Des Moines, Iowa; grandchildren Denni (David) Fitzsimmons (Matthew and Alexa) of Des Moines, Kristin Cordero (Teara, Erica and Leon) of Clarkston, Sarah, Seth and Kaysie Cordero of Des Moines; stepson Jim Floch of Clarkston; as well as several step grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many wonderful friends.
She was preceded in death by her late husband, Elton (Corky) Floch; stepson Elton Floch Jr.; sister Carol Fish; parents John and Dorothy Fish; and first husband Richard Cordero. ~ The Des Moines (IA) Register Fri 1 Feb 2013.
Per Peggy's wishes, her body was cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Condolences may be sent in care of Kristin Cordero, P.O. Box 465, Clarkston, WA 99403. ~ The Des Moines (IA) Fri 1 Feb 2013.
