Resided in Des Moines, IAGod called to Elizabeth on January 30, 2013 and said it was time for her to join her husband, Ross A. Williams, Jr., in Heaven. Visitation will be 6-8pm, Friday, February 1, 2013 at Iles Funeral Homes – Dunn's Chapel, 2121 Grand Avenue, Des Moines. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 2 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Glendale Cemetery, Des Moines.
Elizabeth Ellen Wilson was born on August 26, 1930 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of John and Emma Wilson. She grew up in Monticello, Iowa. Elizabeth worked for 30 years for Des Moines Public Schools as a Math Teacher. Elizabeth was active in the Iowa Genealogical Society and the German and Ireland interest groups. Elizabeth was a member of the Quaker Church in Des Moines, where she was involved with the Clark Street House and was known as "Grandma Little" to all of the children.
Elizabeth is survived by her children, Mike (Debra) Williams of Des Moines, Steve (Karen) Williams of Cambridge, Anita Williams of Stuart, Alisa Payton, Ruthann Nichols, Stephen Clark and Sam Davis; grandchildren, Andrew Williams, Jewel Cvrk, Melinda Avery, Guy Payton, JJ Clark, Crystal Davis, Gerald Whelchel, Justina Pessein, Christopher Whelchel and CherylAnn Whelchel.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brother, Jim and grandson, Matthew.
