Nellie Wiley, 102, of Des Moines passed away Friday, February 15, 2013, at Mercy Medical Center after a short illness. She was born on December 30, 1910 in Independence, CO to Victor and Ingrid Johnson. She grew up in Alta, IA. She married Harry Wiley on January 15, 1944, and he preceded her in death on October 14, 1979. She was a hairdresser at Opal's Beauty Shop until her retirement.

Nellie was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and three sisters.
She is survived by her sister, Irene Johnson, and several nieces and nephews.

She was a member of Windsor Heights Lutheran Church and a member of the Elderberries.

Visitation with the family will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, February 18 at Iles Funeral Homes - Westover Chapel. Services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 19 at Windsor Heights Lutheran Church followed by burial at Glendale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to her church or the American Cancer Society .
