Services will be Saturday, April 9, at Slade - O'Donnell Funeral Home in Leon for Kathy Quigley, 71, who was raised in Decatur County, Iowa. She was born July 31, 1939 to Donald Rollo and Dorothy Easter (McDonald) Elsberry in Knoxville, Iowa. She died at her home on Wednesday, April 6. 2011 and will be buried in Leon Cemetery.

Kathy attended country school and Leon High School. On August 9, 1958, she married Lester LeRoy Quigley, Jr. They were blessed with three children. After the kids were in school, Kathy did sewing and upholstery work from home. Then she worked at O'Bryan Brothers as a seamstress and as a production manager at the Hide Insecticide Factory, both in Leon. They moved to Des Moines, where Kathy managed a Four Sons convenience store before working at Colonial Bread. She retired at age 58. Later she and LeRoy built a house and moved to Decatur. She enjoyed being close to her siblings and volunteering at the Barnum Center and her church. After five years, they moved back to Des Moines to be close to their children and grandchildren. She enjoyed time spent with family and friends.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband LeRoy in February 2010, sister Sherie Webster, brothers, Richard and Raymond Elsberry, and great-grandson Hunter Johnson.

Survivors include her children, Karla and Barry Comstock, Randy Quigley, and Rich and Elena Quigley, all of Des Moines; grandchildren, Tori Johnson, Brandy and Brad Horton, Nicholas and Jennifer Johnston, Rachel Quigley, and Grant and Kate Scott; great-grandchildren, Alexa Johnson, Caleb Horton, Drew Horton, Ava Scott, Keygun Johnson, Kaden Johnston, Landon Johnson, Boston Scott, and one on the way; siblings, Billie and Harry Hopkins of Grand River, Marty and Larry Owens of Leon, Roy and Cheryl Elsberry of Osceola, and Roger and Anneta Elsberry of Leon; brother-in-law Mike Webster of Decatur; sister-in-law Kay and Bill Owens of Cabot, Arkansas; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
