Loran V. Harris, 74, of 102 Alpine Drive, West Des Moines, died Sunday at Mercy Hospital Medical Center, where he had undergone heart surgery. The body was donated to the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences and no sevrices are planned.

Mr. Harris was born in Hurdsfield, N.D., and lived in the Des Moines are for 69 years. he retired after 38 years with Iowa power and Light Co. and was a member of the Izaak Walton League.

Survivors include his wife, Gladys; two daughters, Marjorie Harris of Des Moines and Linda Harris of Waukee; a son, Gregory of Eagle Grove; and two grandchildren.

The family will visit with friends from 2 to 5 p.m. today at the home of Marjorie Harris. Memorial contributions may be made to Camp Sunnyside. Westover Funeral Home handled arrangements. ~ The Des Moines Register, Des Moines, Iowa Tues 13 Aug 1991.
