Millie passed away on November 29, 2012 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston, IA after a prolonged illness. A Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, December 3 at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Des Moines. The family will greet friends at Brooks Funeral Care, 7975 University Blvd. in Clive on Sunday, December 2 from 4 to 7 p.m. with a Vigil Service at 6:30 p.m.

She is survived by her husband, Donald; children, Douglas (Claire) of Chaska, MN, Robert (Anne) of Des Moines, Gary of Greenville, SC, Julie (Michael) Harris of Richardson, TX, Thomas (Patty) of Midland, MI and Michael (Renee) of Roland, IA; 13 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Millie will be remembered as a devoted mother and loving wife who enjoyed making quilts for family, friends and those in need. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

In lieu of flowers the family would like donations to be made to Mercy Hospice, 5820 Winwood Drive, Johnston, IA 50131-1651.

Millie felt she lived a full and happy life. So to her kids and grandkids she leaves them with these words for comfort, "Just snuggle under one of my quilts to keep warm and feel the love I put into making it for you."
