Albert Billings Funeral Service to Be Held Today

Funeral services for Albert Roscoe Billings, 16, Roosevelt High senior, will be held at 2 p.m. today at the First Federated church, Beaver avenue and Adams street. Rev. Clinton E. Rash, pastor of the church, will conduct the services.

Billings, son of Mr. and Mrs. A.P. Billings, 2620 Thirty-fifth street, died Tuesday night at Iowa Methodist hospital as the result of complications arising from an operation for appendicitis.

Born in Des Moines, Billings attended Monroe and Byron Rice school before entering Roosevelt. He took a prominent part in the activities of the high school being a member of the school glee club, the a cappella chorus, the Thespian Dramatic club and the Sothern and Marlowe Dramatic Club.

A member of Boy Scout troop No. 76, Billings also was active in the work of the First Federated church, being secretary of the junior department of the sunday school and playing a prominent part in the intermediate Christian Endeavor Society. He sang in the boys quartet and was selected by the church as a representative to various church conferences.

Besides his parents, Billings is survived by two sisters, Virginia Jean and Marjory Ann Billings, and a brother, Joseph Andrew Billings.
