Former Resident

Here is information about the death of a former central Iowa resident who moved from the area more than 20 years ago:

Palma K. Bondo, 80, of Madison, Wis., died of leukemia July 23 at Meriter Hospital there. Services were held July 27. Mrs. Bondo Lived in Des Moines from 1947 to 1949. Arrangements were handled by Cress Funeral Home in Madison.

Palma died at the age of 80 on a Tuesday and was a resident of Madison, Wisconsin. She was the daughter of Peter and Karen Nelson. Palma graduated from the Brooklyn High School in 1928 and graduated from Madison General Hospital School of Nursing in 1932. She was married to Ervin Bondo on June 24, 1940. He preceded her in death on November 14, 1961. She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Madison. She is survived by two sons, three grandchildren, two brothers Adolph Nelson of Stoughton and Trygve Nelson of Brooklyn, Wisconsin. A brother-in-law, Maxwell Gefke of Oregon, Wisconsin also survives.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Thelma (Nelson) Gefke on May 2, 1986. Palma was interred on Saturday, July 27, 1991.
