Richard Thomason

Richard Thomason, 44, of 2008 59th St. died of cancer Thursday at Mercy Hospital Medical Center. The body has been cremated and a memorial service will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at St. John's Lutheran Church, of which he was a member.

Mr. Thomason was a lifelong Des Moines resident and owner of Dick's Carpet Service. He was a member of Izaak Walton League and the National Fishing Club.

Among survivors are his wife, Judith; a daughter, Kimberly Thomason of Boston; two stepsons, Tom Lanman of Bullhead City, Ariz., and Steven Langman of Des Moines; a stepdaughter, Angela Signs, a son, Rick, his mother, Edythe Thomason, and a sister, Penny Reed, all of Des Moines; and two grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the U.S. Forest Service for the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness in Minnesota. Arrangements are being handled by Hamilton's Funeral Home. ~ The Des Moines Register, Des Moines, Iowa Fri 16 Aug 1991.
