Louis Rivera, 90, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 23, 2012, at home surrounded by his family.

He was born in Mexico on May 24, 1922, to Martiniano and Refugia Rivera. Louis was employed at AMF/Western International for 35 years. His hobbies included gardening, family vacations, bowling and pheasant hunting with his son and others.

Louis is survived by his wife of 62 years, Lupe; children, Virginia (Steve) Morris of Alabama, Carmen Rivera, Josie (Bob) Miethke, Louie Rivera and Theresa Wagner all of Des Moines; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Joe; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Jesse.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 28, 2012, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 15 Indianola Rd., followed by burial at Glendale Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, with the Rosary recited at 7 p.m. at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St.
