LaVerne, 80, passed away at home on November 26. Per his wishes, no services are planned.

LaVerne Allen Smith, son of Wade and Mary (Stump) Smith was born February 12, 1932 in Des Moines. Following graduation from Lincoln High School, he served in the U.S. Air Force in Korea. After discharge, he worked as a government contractor, and then owned a manufacturing business. LaVerne was an avid golfer.

LaVerne was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Patricia Joy.
