Ron, 70, passed away November 28 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston. Ron will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date.

Ronald Boyd Fisher, son of L. H. "Jim" and Ellen "Bun" (Boyd) Fisher, was born July 20, 1942 in Iowa Falls, Iowa. He was a graduate of Iowa Falls High School. Ron was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He retired from Northwestern Bell/USWest after 35 years. Ron was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Telephone Pioneers of America, West Des Moines Elks, and the Woodward Golf Club. Other than his family, his greatest passion in life was the game of golf. If he wasn't playing golf, he was watching it.

Ron is survived by his wife, Kay; son, Todd of Muscatine, Iowa; three daughters: Angela Waack of Wilton, Iowa, Suzanne DeBoer of Omaha, Nebraska, and Michelle (John) Ferrell of Urbandale; and six grandchildren: Ryan and Meghan Waack, Grant and Olivia DeBoer, and J.J. and Jake Ferrell.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Darlene Dawson.
