James Edward Parks, 79, died peacefully at his home on Tuesday, November 27, 2012. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, December 1, 2012 at Wakonda Christian Church, 3938 Fleur Drive. A visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, also at the church. Jim has donated his body to the University of Iowa Anatomy Department.

Jim was born March 19, 1933 in Des Moines to George and Dorothy Parks. Jim was a US Air Force veteran and worked as an account executive for Merrill Lynch. Jim enjoyed gardening, golfing and loved to sing. He helped establish the Lobo Little League in Albuquerque, NM. Jim was a member of the Rotary Club and Wakonda Christian Church.

Jim is survived by his sons, Scott, Todd, Daniel; one grandchild, Erik and sister-in-law, Michaeleen Parks. He was preceded in death by his wife, Arlene "Rusty" Parks.
