Alice Marie Gamble, 87, passed away Friday, September 28, 2012 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston.

Alice was born July 21, 1925 in Des Moines to William and Millie Lewis. She had worked in food service for Broadlawns Hospital for many years and also for Allied Insurance. Alice was a member of Highland Park Christian Church.

Alice is survived by her son, Robert Gamble; daughter, Gloria Nissen; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two great-great-granddaughters; and a host of extended relatives and beloved friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph J. Gamble and her daughter, Jacqueline E. Gamble.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, October 1, 2012 at Highland Park Christian Church, 4260 NW 6th Drive, followed by burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service Monday at the church.
