CARRIE C. VAN WEY

Carrie C. Van Wey, son of W.W. and Salinda Ann Van Wey was born September 9, 1887 near Elkhart, Iowa and passed away at Nevada, Iowa, September 13, aged 62 years and 4 days.

He united in marriage to Sylvia Barton, March 9, 1910. Six children came to bless this home and in his passing he leaves in mourning his wife and sons Raymond and Kenneth at home, son Leroy of Colfax, three daughters, Mrs. Elva Maxwell and Mrs. Faye Horn of Collins, and Mrs. Elizabeth Nagle of Des Moines, seven grandchildren, one brother, Carl Van Wey and one sister, Mrs. Carl Cory, both of Des Moines. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Mrs. Myrtle Hutchinson. He is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews and a host of relatives and friends.

"Chick" as he was most often called has been a faithful and loving husband and father. He had been in failing health for the past six months.
