Michael Kindhart, 2 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. James E. Kindhart of 3512 First st., died Saturday at Broadlawns Polk County Hospital of burns he suffered Friday when a Christmas tree burst into flames.
The boy's mother remained in critical condition Saturday night at Broadlawns. She rescued Michael from the flames after guiding three older children out of the house.
Services for the boy will be at 3 p.m. Monday at North Acres Gospel Chapel. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister, Susan Darlene, and two brothers, James F. and Gary Lee, all at home; his maternal grandfather, Walter Pool of Cumming; and his maternal grandmother, Irene Pool and his paternal grandmother, Thelma Kindhart, both of Des Moines.
