Arthur Dickey, 80, of the 700 block of Northeast Fifth Street, Ankeny, died of Cancer Saturday, December- 9- 2000 at home. The body was donated to the Des Moines University Osteopathic Medical Center. Memorial services will be held at a later date at Living History Farms.
Mr. Dickey was born in Mystic and had lived in Kansas, Cordon and West Des Moines before moving to Ankeny five years ago. He was a retired general store proprietor for Greteman General Store at Living History Farms and had served in the Army. He was a member of Westover Baptist Church in Urbandale, American Legion, Hawkeye Antique Acres and Laplanders Auto Club. He was one of the first emergency medical technicians in Iowa.
He is survived by his wife Ermadene; a daughter Peggy Nickel of Ankeny; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Living History Farms Greteman Store or Hospice of Central Iowa. Ankeny Funeral Home in Ankeny is handling arrangements.
