“Laveda Ohland, 79, of Briar Cliff Retirement Home, Altoona, died of a stroke Friday in Prairie City. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Altoona Funeral Home, with burial in Altoona Cemetery.

Mrs. Ohland was born in Bondurant and lived in Altoona most of her life. She retired in 1982 as a sales clerk for Younkers Department Store, and she was a member of Altoona Christian Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Dorothy Young of Seattle, Wash., a son Lloyd of Altoona; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Friends may call after 2 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to her church.”

LaVeda (Grant) Ohland was born November 10, 1909 in Bondurant to Donald Wallace Grant and Ella V. Custer and departed this life on December 21, 1987.
