“Elsie G. Grant, 89, of McAuley Terrace, 5921 Winwood Drive, Johnston, died of cancer Monday at home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens--Funeral at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mrs. Grant was born in Dickinson County and had lived in Des Moines most of her life. She was a homemaker and a member of the Union Park United Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star.

Survivors include a daughter, Carolyn Cline of Battlefield, Mo; a son, Carl J. Grant Jr., of Des Moines; two sisters, Agnes McCullough of Phoenix, Ariz., and Mary Estes of Spirit Lake; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Friends may call after 3 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mercy Hospice, the Bishop Drumm Care Center or to her church.”

Elsie Gertrude (Froendt) Grant was born on September 8, 1901 in Lake Park, Iowa and departed this life December 31, 1990 in Johnston, Iowa.
