Ruby Fay Wheeler passed away in West Des Moines, IA on Thursday, May 26, 2011.

Ruby was born February 13, 1918, in Forest City, IA to Earnest F. Stapes and Anna Barbara (Athey) Stapes, most of her early life and education was at Stuart, IA.

Ruby married Kenneth B. Wheeler, Sr. May 23, 1934. Ken and Ruby farmed in Guthrie, Audubon and Cass counties before retiring to Redfield in 1981 and in 2001 to Waukee. The retirement years were enjoyed with each other, family and friends, while helping many enjoy their lives.

Ruby will be missed by daughters, Dixie Hunt and Chris Cory, both of Waukee, and son, Kenneth B. Wheeler Jr. of Grimes; twelve grandchildren plus great-grandchildren will miss her.

She was preceded in passing by her husband, Kenneth, a daughter, Vivian Joan Brown, a granddaughter, Darla Rae Dahlke, nine siblings, and parents.

The family will be present for a visitation at Caldwell-Raddatz Funeral Home, 8201 Hickman Road, Urbandale, Iowa, Tuesday, May 31, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.

Services will follow at 2 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Morrisburg Cemetery west of Redfield in Guthrie County.
