Al J. Stader, 68, of 919 S. E. 11th St. died of a respiratory ailment Monday at Veterans Administration Medical Center. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Himilton's near Highland Memory Gardes Funeral Home. Burial will be in Highland memory gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Stader was a lifelong Des Moines resident and a retired carpenter. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Surviving are three daughters, Arlene Welder of Madrid, Jackie Roby of Des Moines and Marilyn Gist of Altoona; a stepdaughter, Diane Savage of Des Moines; a son, Harold, and his father, Harold, both of Perry; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at the funeral home.
